Something Weird
ever wondered how you can extend the range of your car remote without having one of those antenna remotes?
all you have to do is to put the remote on your head and face the direction of your car. Something like this :

at first i didn't really believe it when gen told me that she saw it from somewhere.. but from a few experiments, i now conclude that it actually is real.. haha...
go ahead and try it.. just don't let anybody see you doing it

Initial D

went to watch Initial D yesterday with my ultimate frisbee peeps after a match and i really must say that it's one of the best, it might even be the best racing movies that i've ever seen (yes, even better than "fast and furious")...
what was impressive was that they ported the way the drivers drifted and all from the anime to the movie and none of it was actually CG... what was impressive was the scene where takumi used the ditch to turn around the corner, i was a little "wow-ed" when i saw that in the anime, but now im really really impressed, now that i've actually saw it been done in the movie...
it's a definately must watch, even if you're not really into cars, this movie actually has depth and a story line... don't compare it too much to the anime though, i guess there's too much detailed from the anime to be included into a 110 mins movie..
anyway, been experimenting on how to take good photos with minimal features (a.k.a camera phone).. was even thinking of setting up a photoblog with photos taken with camera phones.. so if you're interested in what im doing, can drop me a mail at egomyATegomyDOTorg (replace AT and DOT accordingly, im trying to avoid email harvesting malwares from getting my mail :> )

Metrosexual
i've just taken one step into being a metrosexual male and pretty much being talked into it...
was just going for my usual fortnightly haircut in my usual salon and this time round, i actually talked to the hairstylist a lil (ok.. maybe quite a bit) and we had quite a conversation during my haircut... so as she was about to finish the haircut and send me for the rinse, she suddenly noticed:
"omg, i just noticed, i think your eyebrows look a bit bad, it looks like it needs some shaping"
i politely declined explaining that i didn't need one then she directed me to the basin where i was going to take my rinse...
i must say that she's one determined woman, cos halfway through my rinse, she offered to trim my eyebrows again and even before i could say anything, i realized her tools were already out and very close to my eyebrows...
now let's analyze the situation:
- im lying down with my head in the basin
- my hair is wet, if i stood up, i'd be wet
- hairstylist's tools were out and ready to go
Chances of not getting my eyebrows trimmed : >30%
before i knew it, her razor was all over my forehead already and i've just became quite a reluctant customer... i swear my mother will get a shock once she sees this when she comes back from malaysia... haha
for now, behold! my eyebrows (picture quality's quite bad.. too lazy to take out my camera, so i used my phone)

Army Talk : SOC
Ever got the kind at feeling when you are very confident of doing something well but in the end shit happens and you get a less desirable result?
happened to me today.. and trust me, it blows..
Just had my SOC (standard obstacle course) test today and we're suppose to clear it within 8 mins 30 secs.. by normal standards, this timing is very fast but it's kinda like a norm when you're an officer cadet..
i guess it's just normal for me to aim for a timing below the specified one and i was pretty sure that i could do it under 8 mins..
all was going well during the course until my rifle sling loosened and my rifle slammed onto the floor.. all the fatigue from running and the "gan jiong-ness" made me spend like 20 secs stopping and fixing my sling...
i finished @ a time of 8 mins 17 secs ...
To rub it in even further, people were asking me why i couldn't do it below 8 mins :/
shit happens...

who reads my blog?
I've been wondering for quite some time already, after bloggin for like 2 years, who actually reads my blog?
i mean like apart from e people that i know that reads all this, who else does?
in order to enlighten myself, i strongly encourage anyone who's reading this (yes. you), to just make an annoynomous comment, just telling me what you do or anythin of that sort... it would be better if you left your link so that i can plug back at you too :)

Vintage VW Bus
i cannot believe what i saw just now... while driving to dinner just now, i saw a vintage 1967 Volkswagen Bus!! IN SINGAPORE! i always thought that the only time that i'll see that bus is only on the TV, but apparently someone manage to get it over her and actually registered it as a car instead of a van or private bus...
the best thing was that the original VW logo infront of the bus was still in a very good condition (chromed) and it had safari pop-out windows~ now how cool is that?? feel in love with that bus ever since i saw it on one of the shows that featured it... i wonder what are the chances of finding another one around here :/
for those of you who have no idea what on earth i'm talking about, here's a little visual explaination :)

Lazy Saturday
it's one of those lazy saturdays once again... actually planned to watch "batman begins" but apparently quite a few people can't make it, so we had to postpone it to next week... WHEN INITIAL D, WAR OF THE WORLDS IS SHOWING!!! (gains back composure.. ahem..)
anyway, at least i finally got motivated to do up the blog template today... put back my old counter, one photo and a banner... at least it doesn't look that plain now...
it's been quite sometime since i actually had the time to play with my sister's rabbit.. and dammmmmnnnn it sure is fat :/

no... it's not a ball of fur

Photoblog : Road Trip
got kinda bored when i was driving towards city hall from camp due to the massive jams and crazy number of traffic lights that i actually had to go past so i decided to give all of you an orientation of my Renault Kangoo...

this is my van, the Renault Kangoo

this is the radio if u haven't realize, apparently it's digital.. dunno what the coin is there for though...

err.. gear shaft?

my dad's vday present to my mum, he used to drive this van, so i guess that's y it's here... the frenching bears :/

the almighty steering wheel, without this, guess what will happen?

another one of those things that i nv understand why my father hangs in the van

urrgghh... rubbish

speedometer and such

there was a lizard which hitched a ride on my mirror 5 mins before i took the picture...
that's all for my car.. sometimes when im driving on the road, i really think that i'm jinxed.. in the sense that i always nv fail to consistently run into red lights...

first traffic light.. mmm....

wad the.. i just travelled less than 100m...

f***! why did they even have a traffic light here???
i gave up taking the rest of the 4 red lights that i hit down the road... im really jinxed....

Love Actually....
...is all around. Well, or at least that's what the movie says. Had a chance to catch that show again this afternoon when we had nothing to do and it's still really entertaining to watch. One part of the movie that really touched me when i first watched the movie was the part where Mark (Andrew Lincoln) finally told Juliet(Keira Knightley) how he really felt about her... but i thought that it would be a really be like a bittersweet feeling if it happened to someone in real life...
speaking of love, seems like people around me are getting attached or on the verge of getting attached and it kinda shakes me a little because whenever people ask me why i still have got a girlfriend, i would simply answer:
"im in ns now, surrounded by guys everyday, how am i suppose to find one?"
well, i guess i ain't trying hard enough..
feelings of being a singleton (a true blue one at that) is really like having a lucky draw -- you'll never know what you'll get.. sometimes people tell me that it's better to be single, but well, i always wanna tell them to stop making such comments because at least no matter how things might get, they always know that there's someone for them to count on.. but well, maybe it's because i've never been attached before, haha.. :/

Useless phrase of the week
im back home and kinda bored, so i decided to post something utterly useless before i leave for camp once again...
HAM AND EGGS - A day's work for a chicken, a lifetime commitment for a pig.
that's all for now... until the weekend :)

Tiring Weekend
this weekend is definately a killer for me because between saturday and sunday, i've only clocked like 2.5 hrs of sleep and i actually had an ultimate frisbee league game just now.. feels damn terrible...
reason for the miserable 2.5 hrs of sleep, i had a friendly game with the SMU ultimate frisbee team in the afternoon until the evening and i headed to dbl O straight after the game, stayed there til like 3.30 am and slept at around 4.30am..
usually that wouldn't be a problem for me as i would sleep til like 12 pm or something before waking up for my weekly ultimate frisbee league game but i stayed til that late last night and i actually over drank knowing that i had to wake up at 7am in the morning for dim sum with my family...
at first it was pretty when i woke up, but once the food went down the stomach, i could feel my stomach screaming for help as i felt the alcohol from the previous nite churning together with the food and the fact that i had a bloody hangover didn't really help the situation... i was thinking that it might be the lack of sleep and i would recover after a short nap when i get home.. but...
once i laid on my bed, i became nauseus everytime im turning around my bed, it felt like the alcohol was threatening to come out from my throat... and so i decided to screw the sleep and stayed up all the way til my league game....
then now here i am, all tired out, eyes closing and _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (add any miserable feeling that you can think of).. now im just waiting to book in and sleep all the way til morning and hope that i would wake up feeling fresh again...
moral of the story: if you have to club, don't do dim sum in the morning... haha..

Determination
today, i have witness the power of determination in men (and women of course)..
me and my course mates just had our IPPT like a few hours ago and it's very motivating and inspiring to see how some of them came from just a pass to a gold in like 2 months.. it's definately not a small feat in my point of view.. really think that they should be very proud of themselves for going through so much training, and self-motivated at that...
for me, im kinda happy for myself too since i got my gold back with a 2.4km timing of 9 mins 15 secs.. kinda bewildered by the timing cos it's just last week that my morale hit rock bottom because i couldn't finish running 6 rounds and now im here feeling happy about the fastest timing (hopefully it won't be the fastest in the near future) that i've ever clocked in my army life...
IPPT down, now im left with SOC to go...

Disappointed
i've never felt physically like myself after my stupid foot injury... not only have it affected me physically, i feel like somehow someway, the fear of a reoccurring injury just keeps creeping into my head...
im no longer playing as hard during my games or running as hard when im training... an example would be in the evening just now when i was attempting to run 6 rounds around the track to see if i still can maintain my IPPT gold time since i haven't really ran in like 2 months... but sadly, on the fourth round the little fear started creeping into my head once again.. and i actually stopped at the 4th round clocking 6 mins 10 secs...
there was no pain but i just kept thinking that i can't go on anymore... fucking disappointed with myself.. it was just 2 more rounds and i would have met my timing but i just had to stop... very disappointed with myself :/

Down
ok, egomy.org is officially down as im writing this entry.. i think i'll be trying to fix up a new account over the next few days, let's see what i can do about the dark side of me which is making me feel lerthagic and stuff.. haha..
anyway, was pretty bored for the past few days so i decided to read the book "Five People You Meet In Heaven" which was passed to me by gen and it's really quite a joy to read, so much that i actually finished it in a day... it's pretty easy to read, but it's meaningful as anything that i've read so far...
sometimes reading this kinda "self-help" books really makes me think about life, about what i've done so far and what i've yet to achieve that i want to.. which leads me back to my paranoia that i have something in life that's missing and i still can't figure out what exactly it is :/
just realized that all my title entries are made up of one word only and no, i didn't do it on purpose.. probably because im too lazy too think of titles when im posting an entry.. but it's more intriguing this way isn't it? haha.. well, i guess it could go both ways...
